I've admin'ed both, most recently about 3y ago, and they're not in the same league. It's certainly a problem, but when has life ever been "problem-free"? Moreover, these "servers" could be anything from a home-built rig for hosting games or Mastodon (as one timely example) to small business that has "support" on contract but only ever calls them because there's a problem (which this exploit may, or may not ever, create for the server itself, so the business sees no problem to call about), to MAYBE some folks who should have a clue. That's why IT has "best practices" that businesses are strongly urged to follow, but not mandated to because some simply can't afford to do that.
